John paints in watercolours and acrylics and at times a combination of both. He exhibits in Bedfordshire Hertfordshire and Suffolk and also delivers workshops and demonstrations as well as private art lessons

 

His work tends to follow a few different styles depending on the subject matter. He has both a loose pen & wash approach plus a more illustrative style for his watercolours and a more abstract approach for his acrylics.

The coast in all its many guises often inspires John to paint and he is fascinated by the spectrum of the differing coastlines in the UK. Often his work combines captured snippets of visual information together with imagined elements.
